FREE NHS Health Checks
Helping you prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease
Sunderland Teaching Primary Care Trust is offering free Health Checks to people aged between 40 and 74 years old. This check is to assess your risk of developing high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, kidney disease or diabetes. These conditions are the number one cause of premature death in the North East and your more at risk if you are a smoker, overweight or suffer from things like high cholesterol or high blood pressure. The check is quick and easy to do, and if there are any problems you’ll get plenty of personalised help and advice on simple lifestyle changes which can make a huge difference.

Healthy Happy Helpers
This is a fun and interactive way to inform young children of the importance of good dental care, healthy eating and drinking. It helps encourage children to take part in physical exercise and assist parents/cares to carry on the good practice at home. The aim of this project is to establish healthy lifestyles in the early years. This project will be rolled our over the 17 Children's Centres in the next year. Free Chlamydia tests for under 25's
Chlamydia is the most common bacteria sexually transmitted infection. At least one in ten sexually active people under the age of 25 will have chlamydia - and you may not even know you have it because most people do not have any symptoms.
